CN Train and Farmer in Field

A Global Leader in the Agriculture Marketplace

Over the last 20 year Canadian grain exports have doubled to over 50 million metric tonnes

CN railroaders and farmers have a great deal in common, including a deep commitment to safely delivering grain to market and feeding the world. Each November for almost a quarter century, CN has reconnected with the agricultural community in Western Canada and beyond at the Canadian Western Agribition in Regina, SK.

Agribition brings together a wonderful blend of agriculture, Indigenous culture, and festive entertainment (featuring rodeos, live music, shopping, and food), as well as an extensive agribusiness trade show.

CN has supported Agribition since 1999 and has been an official sponsor of safety initiatives, the Grain Expo and other events since 2004. CN is a platinum sponsor of the Agribition Trade Show (one of the largest in Canada) as well as Agribition’s signature leadership event for businesspeople, politicians, and decision-makers from across Saskatchewan: Food, Fuel & Free Trade. This year’s Food, Fuel & Free Trade breakfast featured a keynote address by our CEO Tracy Robinson as well as a charity auction to benefit STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service). At this event, CN also pledged $100,000 to support STARS’ work throughout Western Canada.

2022 marked the 10th year of the annual Agribition Grain Expo. This two-day conference and mini trade show is aimed at grain producers and industry and covers a wide variety of topics from crop production to succession planning. David Przednowek, Assistant Vice-President, Grain, led off the event this year to outline CN’s Winter Plan and our commitment to move Western Canadian grain to market.

CN also supported the 9th annual Indigenous Agriculture Summit. With a newly expanded reach and focus on agriculture and food in Canada’s First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities, the Summit agenda is filled with shared success stories, best practices, as well as leadership, economic development, and networking opportunities.

CN and Canadian farmers share a common commitment to safety. Maintaining a constant focus on safety is essential when working with heavy machinery, which is part of daily life on both the farm and the railway. Agribition is an excellent opportunity to spread the rail safety message, and CN Police Service and Transportation personnel promoted safety education to thousands of young people.

CN would like to thank all Agribition organizers as well as all our customers, stakeholders, and farmers who participated.

CN shares timely and relevant information about our grain movement throughout the year. For more information, visit our  Grain Hub at Grain | cn.ca.
