CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund

We are proud that the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund has planned and organized fundraising activities and annual campaigns in support of many registered Canadian charities for over 56 years. The Community Fund, run by CN employees and pensioners acting on behalf of their colleagues, gives every dollar donated directly to the designated charities.

One of the largest and most successful funds of its kind in Canada, the Community Fund expanded to the United States in 2022, giving employees in the U.S. opportunities to get involved and help their communities.

The 2025 campaign raised $2.13 million. Over the past 10 years, the Community Fund has raised $19.9 million, supporting over 600 charities focusing on humanitarian aid, child support, health and research, and community well-being.

To learn more about the Community Fund, including how to contribute, the list of organizations you can donate to and more, please visit our Canadian or American websites.

2024 Alberta Wildfires Appeal

In response to the wildfires that affected Jasper and other areas in Alberta in July, the Community Fund set up an emergency appeal benefitting the Canadian Red Cross 2024 Alberta Wildfires Appeal. With CN matching donations up to $25,000, a total of $46,770 was raised to help the residents of Alberta affected by the wildfires.

Support suicide prevention and receive Milo plush toy

To help support suicide prevention, CN employees across our network were encouraged to donate and get their very own mini plush toy of Milo, CN’s new mascot. $17,130 was raised benefitting the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention and the American Foundation for suicide prevention.
