CN is Proud to Honour and Support Veterans in Canada and the United States

Each November 11, CN takes the opportunity to honour and appreciate the sacrifices and selflessness of the men and women who served in the Canadian and American militaries. At CN, we feel fortunate to have many active and veteran service members who are part of our team. These employees have made significant contributions to their countries and we are extremely proud to have them as part of the CN family.

Every year on this day, CN railroaders in our yards, shops and offices pause for a moment of silence, while train crews moving on our main line ring their engine bell, in honour of our co-workers, customers, partners and community members who are military veterans.

Here are some of the ways CN is thanking veterans in Canada and the U.S. this year:

  • In Canada, we are supporting the Legion National Foundation’s Digital Poppy Campaign through the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund. All money raised will support Canadian veterans and their families.

  • In the U.S., CN is making a $10,000 donation to the American Legion, a non-profit organization that helps veterans and their families apply for benefits, assists wounded and disabled veterans and grants scholarships to children whose parents have passed away or sustained serious injuries.

  • CN’s two new tribute locomotives pay homage to veterans and active military men and women across North America. Their custom design represents the proud footprint we have established across our network and our deep recognition for the veterans who live and work in the communities our trains pass through every day. Stay tuned as they make their debut on our main line in the coming days!

In honor of Remembrance Day and Veterans Day, we encourage you to take a moment to thank a service member for his or her dedicated service.
