Delivering Responsibly - Safety

Putting Safety first

Nothing is more important to CN than running a safe operation.  Our vision is to be the safest railroad in North America by establishing an uncompromising safety culture that leads to sustained leadership in safety.

Each year we invest a significant percentage of revenues in safety training, technology and infrastructure to ensure a safe and secure working environment and to deliver our customers' shipments damage-free.

Highlights:

  • CN turned in an impressive safety performance in 2009 with a 12 per cent improvement in our FRA train accident ratio, a 30 per cent reduction in FRA main track accidents and 28% reduction in non-main track accidents. More on CN's safety performance
