Ray-Mont grand opening

Changing the Way We Export Grain from Western Canada

With its grand opening on August 29th, 2017, the state-of-the-art Ray-Mont Logistics grain
transload facility is now ready for business.

Located on Ridley Island, adjacent to the newly expanded Port of Prince Rupert Fairview Container Terminal and connected to CN’s extensive network, the new Ray-Mont facility is poised to help crops transported by CN from Western and Central Canada as well as the American Midwest reach international markets. The 10-acre facility includes a 100-car rail loop corridor, a grain dumper pit, as well as a state-of-the-art conveyance system and will transload grain from CN hoppers to ocean liner containers for export. The facility will handle grains, cereals, and pulses transported from the US and Canada in order to meet the increasing demand for containerized grain in international markets (especially those in India and Asia).

With this facility – which is currently the only unit train stuffing facility on Canada’s west coast – specialized logistics market leader, Ray-Mont Logistics offers a trade solution that will change the way grain is shipped out of Western Canada and offer unparalleled opportunity for agricultural commodity exporters trying to meet growing international market demands.

Among the first to take advantage of the offerings at this new facility, will be Agrocorp Processing Ltd., one of the largest Pulse trading houses in the world. Agrocorp’s Canadian presence consists of a trading office in Vancouver, and 4 processing units in Alberta as well as Saskatchewan with a combined 500,000MT export capacity. By partnering with the new Ray-Mont Logistics facility and CN, Agrocorp continues to foster its core values of cooperation, agility and excellence in moving grain to buyer markets.

CN is excited to work with Ray-Mont Logistics at the new facility and by the tremendous benefit the new facility will represent to the overall grain export supply chain.

As we often say at CN, from farm to table, it takes a lot of people to move grain.
