GrainsConnect Huzley terminal

Fourth GrainsConnect Canada Site to be Built Near Calgary

New high throughput grain terminal to be constructed in Huxley, AB

When it comes to investing in the grain supply chain, it has been a busy year for GrainsConnect Canada.

Earlier this year, they announced the construction of a new high throughput terminal in Vegreville, AB. Now, they’ve unveiled plans for another one in Huxley, 120km northeast of Calgary.

In line with previously announced sites, it will feature a state-of-the-art 35,000 tonne grain terminal with the ability to load 134 rail cars in under 14 hours. GrainsConnect Huxley will be the first site in the region with a 134 car rail loop, increasing efficiency and reliability to growers in the area.

CN will serve the site, bringing grain across our network to key export gateways. Subject to necessary approvals, construction of the project is planned to begin mid-year with an expected completion date of 2019.
