Jean-Jacques Ruest was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2018, after having served as Interim President and CEO since March 2018.

Jean-Jacques Ruest was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2018, after having served as Interim President and CEO since March 2018. He was previously Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer since January 2010, with responsibility for providing the strategic direction and leadership for CN's Sales, Marketing and CN Supply Chain Solutions groups.

Mr. Ruest joined CN in 1996 at the time of the privatization. Prior to this, Mr. Ruest worked for 16 years at a major international chemical company.

Mr. Ruest holds a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing from HEC Montréal (Université de Montréal) and a Bachelor of Science degree in applied chemistry from Université de Sherbrooke. He also completed the executive program of the University of Michigan Business School, and CN's Railroad MBA program.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Ruest has been honoured many times by the business community, notably as 2019 Railroader of the Year and an Inductee to the International Maritime Hall of Fame in 2017.

Mike Cory was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer in July 2016, based in Montreal.

Mike Cory was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer in July 2016, based in Montreal.

Mr. Cory started with CN in 1981 at the Symington Yard Diesel Shop in Winnipeg as a labourer. Over the years, he has held various operational positions, worked in Customer Service and Marketing, and served as Superintendent, General Superintendent, Director of Service Design and Network Operations Superintendent. In January 2006, he became General Manager of Operations for the Michigan sub Region. In September of 2006, Mr. Cory became Assistant Vice-President of Network Operations and then Vice-President of Operations for the Eastern Region in June 2007, until his promotion to Senior Vice-President, Eastern Region, in November 2008. He was named Senior Vice-President for Western Region, based in Edmonton, Alberta in April 2009.

Mr. Cory completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.

Sean Finn was appointed Executive Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer in December 2008. He is responsible for a wide array of legal, government, regulatory, public affairs, risk mitigation and security matters.

Sean Finn was appointed Executive Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer in December 2008. He is responsible for a wide array of legal, government, regulatory, public affairs, risk mitigation and security matters.

Mr. Finn joined CN in January 1994 and led the Company's corporate tax function while being involved extensively in CN's privatization in November 1995. He was appointed Treasurer and Principal Tax Counsel in August 1996, Vice-President, Treasurer and Principal Tax Counsel in January 2000, Senior Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in December 2000, and Senior Vice-President Public Affairs, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in February 2003. As Corporate Secretary, he is actively involved and responsible for CN's Corporate Governance Practices and the implementation of the CN Business Code of Conduct.

Prior to joining CN, Mr. Finn was the managing tax partner with the Montreal law firm Lavery, de Billy, where he was involved in domestic and international tax planning, cross-border financing, and corporate financing and reorganizations.

Mr. Finn graduated from the faculty of law of the University of Montreal in 1981 and completed a Masters degree in tax law at the University of Toronto in 1983. He was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1983.

Mr. Finn was named Tax Lawyer of the Year 2000 by his peers. He is former Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (2006-2007) and of the Quebec Chamber of Commerce (2002-2003). He was also the mayor of the City of Saint-Lambert, Quebec from 2005 to 2009. Mr. Finn was a lecturer for 20 years in tax legislation and policy for the masters in taxation at Université de Sherbrooke and for the graduate diploma in taxation at McGill University. He is currently a board member of the YMCA Foundation of Greater Montreal (since 2000), the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation and Chairman of the Corporate Campaign (since 2005), as well as Swimming Canada (since October 2008).

Ghislain Houle was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer in July 2016, based in Montreal. His responsibilities at CN include financial management and strategic planning.

Ghislain Houle was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer in July 2016, based in Montreal. His responsibilities at CN include financial management and strategic planning. Previously, he had been Vice-President and Corporate Comptroller since March 2016, and Vice-President – Financial Planning since March 2007.

Mr. Houle joined CN in September 1997 as Chief of Internal Audit. In July 1998, he was appointed Managing Director, ISP Project, a three-year initiative to improve business processes by replacing CN's administrative support systems with the SAP integrated solution. He became Vice-President and Treasurer in 2001 and in 2004, he was responsible for the integration of the Business Development Group with CN Railway Properties, which he already managed since November 2002.

Prior to joining CN, Mr. Houle held the position of Senior Manager in tax and audit at a major accounting firm.

Mr. Houle is a CPA, CA and holds a bachelor of commerce degree from Laval University and an MBA from McGill University.

Marlene Puffer was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the CN Investment Division, which manages one of the largest corporate pension funds in Canada, in March 2018.

Marlene Puffer was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the CN Investment Division, which manages one of the largest corporate pension funds in Canada, in March 2018.

Prior to joining CN in 2018, Dr. Puffer was a Partner at Alignvest Investment Management. She has over 25 years of experience in investments, pensions and capital markets. She was previously the Chief Strategist at BCA Research, a global leader in independent macro investment strategy, the President and Founder of Twist Financial, an independent consulting firm, and the Chief Investment Officer at NAV CANADA Pension Plan.

Marlene is former vice-chair of the Board of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.

She earned a Ph.D. in Finance and Applied Statistics and a M.Sc. in Business Administration from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Economics from the University of Toronto. Marlene holds a CFA charter and the ICD.D designation granted by the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Kimberly Madigan was appointed Senior Vice-President Human Resources in December 2018. In her role, she is responsible for managing the Human Resources, Labor Relations and Medical service groups across the Company. Prior to that, she had been Vice-President, People, since June 2009.

Kimberly Madigan was appointed Senior Vice-President Human Resources in December 2018. In her role, she is responsible for managing the Human Resources, Labor Relations and Medical service groups across the Company. Prior to that, she had been Vice-President, People, since June 2009.

Ms. Madigan joined CN in 1999 as Vice-President, Human Resources, U.S. Operations, and was named Vice-President, Labour Relations, North America, in July 2002.

Ms. Madigan has extensive experience in transportation labor negotiations and mediation. In August 1990, she joined the National Mediation Board (NMB), serving as Chairman from July 1992 to December 1993. Following her tenure at NMB, Madigan was a Principal with Chambers, Conlon, and Hartwell, a transportation consulting firm, where she also served as President of the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association. While with the law firm of Weiner, McCaffrey, Brodsky, Kaplan & Levin, P.C., she represented a number of regional and local railroad carriers, concentrating on litigation, regulatory, and labor matters. From 1986-1990, she was an attorney with Highsaw & Mahoney, P.C., where she represented the Railway Labor Executives' Association and other associated labor organizations.

Ms. Madigan holds a degree in business administration from the University of Illinois, and is a graduate of the Washington College of Law, American University, where she was adjunct professor of law from 1992-1993.

Matthew (Mack) Barker was appointed Senior Vice-President Network Technology and Operations Planning in August 2018, based in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, he is responsible for driving the operationalization of technology to plan, expand and enhance CN’s network capacity.

Matthew (Mack) Barker was appointed Senior Vice-President Network Technology and Operations Planning in August 2018, based in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, he is responsible for driving the operationalization of technology to plan, expand and enhance CN’s network capacity. This includes overseeing CN’s Operating plan, monitoring of operating performance, and the planning of track, crew and locomotive investments, as well as the application of technology to deliver operating efficiency and safety performance.

Prior to his appointment, he had been Senior Vice-President, Network Operations and Planning since October 2016, and previously Vice-President, Network Operations and Planning since 2013. Mr. Barker has over 35 years of CN service, in a variety of progressively responsible roles in Operations, Information Technology and Marketing. In 1998 he moved from Marketing to Operations and led the team responsible for developing CN's industry leading Scheduled Railway Operating Plan. Since that time, Mr. Barker has been instrumental in driving continued efficiency gains and service quality initiatives.

He holds a Bachelors of Computer Science and an MBA, both from Concordia University in Montreal.

Michael Foster is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Information and Technology Officer. He was appointed in March 2018 and is responsible for the strategy and development of CN’s information systems and operational technology platforms.

Michael Foster is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Information and Technology Officer. He was appointed in March 2018 and is responsible for the strategy and development of CN’s information systems and operational technology platforms.

Most recently, Mr. Foster was Senior Vice-President IT and Chief Information Officer at FedEx Freight. Prior to that, he served for 21 years at FedEx Express in the Europe Middle East & Africa Region, as the Regional CIO for the EMEA Region as well as the SVP IT and International CIO for the EMEA and Asia Pacific Regions.

In 2015, Computerworld recognized Mr. Foster as one of their Premier 100 Honorees and one of his initiatives was recognized by InformationWeek as one of the “20 Ideas to Steal in 2015”. In 2017, IDG Enterprise recognized one of his initiatives with a Digital Edge 50 Award.

Mr. Foster has a Bachelors’ Degree in International Business from Richmond College in the UK.

Doug MacDonald was appointed Senior Vice-President, Rail Centric Supply Chain Growth in August 2018, based in Calgary. He oversees the execution and expansion of CN’s bulk and merchandise carload businesses, leading the commercial teams and non-rail operations in his supply chains, and adapting all last-mile services for customers.

Doug MacDonald was appointed Senior Vice-President, Rail Centric Supply Chain Growth in August 2018, based in Calgary. He oversees the execution and expansion of CN’s bulk and merchandise carload businesses, leading the commercial teams and non-rail operations in his supply chains, and adapting all last-mile services for customers.

In this role, Mr. MacDonald is responsible for CN's grain, fertilizers, sulphur and coal businesses as well as for petroleum and chemicals, forest products, and metals and minerals.

Prior to his appointment, he had been Vice-President, Bulk since March 2016, and previously was named Vice-President Industrial Products in May 2012, and Vice-President Corporate Marketing in 2010.

Mr. MacDonald joined CN in 1989 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the Marketing, Sales, and Information Technology departments in Montreal, Edmonton and Chicago.

Mr. MacDonald holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Concordia University, in Montreal.

John Orr was appointed CN's Senior Vice-President and Chief Transportation Officer in August 2018, based in Homewood, IL. Previously, he had been Senior Vice-President, Southern Region since April 2015.

John Orr was appointed CN's Senior Vice-President and Chief Transportation Officer in August 2018, based in Homewood, IL. Previously, he had been Senior Vice-President, Southern Region since April 2015.

Mr. Orr joined CN in 1985 as a conductor in London, Ontario, taking on positions of increasing responsibility with a variety of duties before being named Assistant General Manager, MacMillan Yard in Toronto in 2005. He was promoted to General Manager, Mac Yard in 2006. He was appointed to lead the Prairie Sub-region as General Manager in Edmonton in 2007, and was promoted to Assistant Vice-President, Operations, BC South in Vancouver in April 2009. In September 2011, he was promoted to Vice-President, Chief Safety and Sustainability Officer. He was named CN’s Vice-President, Eastern Region in March 2013. Mr. Orr has been recognized for his role in numerous process improvements, mentoring programs and progressive safety culture initiatives.

Mr. Orr holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and has continued his own professional development at the University of Guelph, the Niagara Leadership Institute, Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and Harvard University.

Keith Reardon was appointed Senior Vice-President, Consumer Product Supply Chain Growth, in August 2018, based in Toronto. He is responsible for the execution and expansion of CN’s intermodal and automotive businesses, leading the commercial teams and non-rail operations in his supply chains, and adapting all last-mile services for customers. Mr. Reardon oversees all aspects of the company’s domestic and international intermodal and automotive activities, as well as freight forwarding services in North America and Asia, and CN’s regional sales groups.

Prior to his appointment, he had been Vice-President of Intermodal and Automotive since January of 2017. In 2012, Mr. Reardon was named Vice-President of Intermodal Services. In 2009, Mr. Reardon was appointed Vice-President of Supply Chain Solutions, where he was responsible for the Automotive and Iron Ore business units and CN’s non-rail transportation services including transloading, freight forwarding and warehousing, just to name a few. He also directed many supply chain and business development initiatives for CN – working closely with CN customers and partners. Previously, he was Assistant Vice-President of CN Transloading Operations, where he managed more than 80 CN-owned warehousing and distribution facilities.

Passionate about logistics, Mr. Reardon has more than 25 years of experience in the field; he also held senior positions with outside firms in the world of logistics for a number of years. Mr. Reardon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and an MBA from the University of North Florida.

Mitch Beekman was named Vice-President, Safety and Environment in June 2017, and is based in Homewood, IL. He joined CN as Vice-President, Safety and Sustainability in January 2017.

Mitch Beekman was named Vice-President, Safety and Environment in June 2017, and is based in Homewood, IL. He joined CN as Vice-President, Safety and Sustainability in January 2017.

Mr. Beekman’s role is to help the company pursue its goal of becoming the safest railroad in North America and continue to deepen CN’s sustainability agenda.

Prior to joining CN, Mr. Beekman had over 20 years of operations based Environmental, Health and Safety roles at The Dow Chemical Company.  In 2009, he joined BP as the Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager for their largest refinery. He was most recently Vice-President, Health Safety and Environment, Safety and Operational Risk for the Downstream Segment at BP. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science from Alma College, and a Master of Science in Industrial Health from the University of Michigan.

Bernd Beyer was appointed as Vice-President and Treasurer in October of 2015. Based in Montreal, he oversees CN’s Treasury and Taxation activities.

Bernd Beyer was appointed as Vice-President and Treasurer in October of 2015. Based in Montreal, he oversees CN’s Treasury and Taxation activities.

Mr. Beyer came to CN after 12 years with Rio Tinto, a leading global mining and metals company. At Rio Tinto (and Alcan, until it was acquired by Rio Tinto), he held various positions; most recently he was Regional Treasurer for the Americas. Previously, he was with the Bank of Montreal in Toronto and a major accounting firm in Montreal.

Mr. Beyer is a Canadian Chartered Accountant since 1995 and holds an MBA from McGill University.

Paul Butcher was appointed Vice-President Investor Relations in July 2016, based in Montreal.

Mr. Butcher joined CN in 1993, initially working as a project officer in Financial Planning before moving to Marketing in 1999, serving in the Revenue Planning, Metals and Minerals, as well as Intermodal groups. He was involved in key growth projects at CN such as the new container port at the Port of Prince Rupert, among others. Prior to his most recent appointment, Mr. Butcher had been Senior Manager of Investor Relations since November 2009.

Before joining CN, Mr. Butcher worked two years as an economist in Ottawa at Informetrica Limited.

He holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in Economics from the University of Montreal.

James Cairns was appointed Vice-President, Petroleum and Chemicals in February 2010, based in Calgary. He oversees sales and Marketing for CN's Petroleum and Chemicals business unit.

James Cairns was appointed Vice-President, Petroleum and Chemicals in February 2010, based in Calgary. He oversees sales and Marketing for CN's Petroleum and Chemicals business unit.

Mr. Cairns joined CN in 1988 as a train order operator, before being promoted to rail traffic controller and then to team leader with CN's Customer Service Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He entered the Sales and Marketing world in 1997 as an Intermodal account manager in Toronto, and was promoted to director, Intermodal Sales in 1999. Mr. Cairns then successively held senior positions in Intermodal Wholesale, Petroleum & Plastics Marketing, and IMX operations. Until his promotion to Vice-President, he had been assistant Vice-President of CN's domestic intermodal since 2007.

Mr. Cairns holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg and an MBA from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Olivier Chouc was appointed Vice-President, Law in January 2011. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Université Laval in 1990 and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1991. He left private practice in 1998 after seven years at Ogilvy Renault, to join Abitibi-Consolidated (Donohue Inc.) as in-house counsel, where he was responsible for supporting procurement management as well as the company's real estate, litigation and intellectual property portfolio.

Olivier Chouc was appointed Vice-President, Law in January 2011. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Université Laval in 1990 and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1991. He left private practice in 1998 after seven years at Ogilvy Renault, to join Abitibi-Consolidated (Donohue Inc.) as in-house counsel, where he was responsible for supporting procurement management as well as the company's real estate, litigation and intellectual property portfolio. He was also entrusted with transactional work, including with some aspect of the major transaction leading to the sale of Donohue Inc. to Abitibi-Consolidated. In 2000, he joined the CN Law Department in a counsel capacity to support real estate, supply management, as well as transactional work. He then moved to a senior counsel position with increased responsibilities in the area of mergers and acquisitions and was eventually responsible for the management of the mergers and acquisition group. In 2006, he was named Assistant Vice-President, General Counsel and Managing Partner.

In 2005, he was named Canada's Top 40 under 40 In-House Counsel by the National Post.

Mr. Chouc is involved with charitable organizations, namely the Fondation Marie-Vincent, The Ted Nolan Foundation and the Fondation Enfants-Retour. He is currently the Chairman of the CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund after ending a two year mandate as co-president.

Chief of Police and Chief Security Officer

Stephen Covey became CN Chief of Police and Chief Security Officer on November 1, 2013. In heading up the company’s Security Function, Steve has responsibility for CN’s Canadian and U.S. Police and Risk Mitigation teams, as well as oversight for border and other security matters. He is based in Montreal. Prior to his appointment, Steve was CN Chief of Police for Canada.

Stephen Covey became CN Chief of Police and Chief Security Officer on November 1, 2013. In heading up the company’s Security Function, Steve has responsibility for CN’s Canadian and U.S. Police and Risk Mitigation teams, as well as oversight for border and other security matters. He is based in Montreal. Prior to his appointment, Steve was CN Chief of Police for Canada.

Steve joined CN in February 2010 after 27 years with the RCMP where he had most recently held the rank of Superintendent. He served throughout Canada and overseas on various investigative and supervisory assignments. After retiring from the RCMP, Steve led North American anti-piracy operations in Canada for the film industry.

Janet Drysdale was appointed Vice-President Financial Planning in July 2018. Previously, she was named Vice-President Corporate Development and Sustainability in June 2017, Vice-President Corporate Development in March 2016, and prior to that, had been Vice-President, Investor Relations since December 2012.

Janet Drysdale was appointed Vice-President Financial Planning in July 2018. Previously, she was named Vice-President Corporate Development and Sustainability in June 2017, Vice-President Corporate Development in March 2016, and prior to that, had been Vice-President, Investor Relations since December 2012.

Her responsibilities include monitoring and managing the Company's operating and capital budgets, economic forecasting and financial planning as well as costing and profitability analysis.

As well, she continues to oversee the Corporate Development and Sustainability group, which includes leading CN's strategic initiatives in the areas of business development, acquisitions, alliances, co-production, network restructuring and sustainability, including the Company’s carbon and conservation strategies.

Ms. Drysdale joined CN in 1996, initially working as a project officer in a management development program before moving to positions of increasing responsibility in Sales and Marketing, Investor Relations and Financial Planning, including Market Manager Petroleum and Chemicals, Senior Manager Revenue Planning, Senior Manager Investor Relations, and Director Economics and Strategic Planning.

Ms. Drysdale holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen's University and an MBA from McGill University.

Michael Farkouh was appointed Vice-President, Eastern Region in April 2015, based in Montreal.

Mr. Farkouh started with CN in 1989 as Mechanical Engineer – Freight. Over the years, he has held various positions in both the operations and manufacturing fields including: Manager Planning, Car Fleet Maintenance; Regional Mechanical Officer – Eastern Canada; Superintendent Operations – Greater Montreal; General Manager Operations – Great Lakes Division. In June 2007, Mr. Farkouh was appointed General Manager Operations – Greater Toronto Division. In June 2009, Mr. Farkouh was appointed General Manager, Champlain, based in Montreal. In September 2011, Michael Farkouh was appointed General Manager, B.C. South, based in Surrey, British Columbia. In September of 2012 he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Vice-President – B.C. South. This was followed by another promotion when Mr. Farkouh was appointed Vice-President, Safety and Sustainability in April 2013.

Mr. Farkouh holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from McGill University and has 26 years experience in the transportation sector. Mr. Farkouh has had extensive experience in both the operations and manufacturing fields of this industry.

Sam Forgione was appointed Vice-President and Corporate Comptroller in July 2016. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice-President, Investor Relations since March 2016.

Sam Forgione was appointed Vice-President and Corporate Comptroller in July 2016. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice-President, Investor Relations since March 2016.

Mr. Forgione is responsible for CN’s financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll among other areas.

He has been a Chartered Accountant since 1990 and began his career at CN in 1994 in Corporate Accounting, where he held positions of increasing responsibility. In 2001, he became Director of Corporate Development, focusing mainly on mergers and acquisitions. In 2011, Sam rejoined the Accounting department as Assistant Comptroller, General Accounting, before being appointed Assistant Comptroller, Revenue Management in 2012, and Assistant Comptroller, Financial Reporting in 2013.

Mr. Forgione is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a graduate degree in Accountancy from Concordia University in Montreal.

Martin Guimond was appointed Vice-President, Multimodal Operations in January 2017, based in Brampton, Ontario.

Mr. Guimond plays a leadership role in providing best-in-class service to CN customers through the company’s Intermodal, Iron Ore, Autoport and Transloading operations.

He joined CN after having held senior role responsibilities at Imperial Tobacco Canada in a diversity of areas, including operations and supply chain, sales, marketing, warehouse and plant management, and quality assurance.

Mr. Guimond holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in operations and production management from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal.

Prior to joining CN, Mr. Gupta was with Trinity Rail Industries where he was most recently Vice President in the Rail Products Group responsible for engineering, innovation & product development, regulatory compliance, program management, lean and manufacturing process controls.

Previously at Parker Hannifin, Mr. Gupta led two global aerospace divisions with full financial (P&L) and operational responsibilities delivering profitable growth while serving various commercial, general aviation, and aftermarket customers. He also held corporate leadership positions for engineering & innovation, and quality to implement strategic initiatives to achieve organic growth and quality objectives for global businesses. In addition, Mr. Gupta had increasing cross-functional responsibilities including business strategy & planning and product system design during his tenure at Ford Motor Company.

Mr. Gupta holds a Master of Science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He has also completed executive coursework at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Harvard Business School, and University of Chicago. He was also a board member of a non-profit product development and manufacturing consulting organization.

Paul Harridine was appointed Vice-President Procurement and Supply Management in July 2017, and is based in Montreal.

Mr. Harridine came to CN with 30 years of experience in supply management, procurement and supply chain across many industries, including automotive and aerospace. Prior to joining CN, he was most recently the Chief Procurement Officer for DS Smith plc, a leading British-based international packaging business, where he was responsible for all procurement across 30 countries. Previously, he had been VP Purchasing Europe for Lafarge, a Paris-headquartered world leader in building materials, specializing in cement, construction aggregates, and concrete.

Mr. Harridine holds a Bachelor Economics from the Loughborough University of Technology and an MBA from Warwick University.

She subsequently served as Director of Sales and Pricing for CN’s international freight forwarding subsidiary CN WorldWide Inc, Director of Supply Chain and Director Sales US.

Ms. Levis holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Commerce with a Major in Statistics & Decision Sciences from Concordia University in Montreal.

Previously Mark had been Vice-President, Corporate Marketing since March 2016 and Assistant Vice-President, Domestic Intermodal since 2010, where he was responsible for Marketing & Sales for all shipments within and between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. From 2004 to 2010 Mark was Assistant Vice-President for International sales and was involved in bringing Cosco to the new Port of Prince Rupert. Prior to that, he worked in Marketing in the Metals & Minerals business unit.

Mr. Lerner joined CN in 1993, initially working in the Management Development Program.

Mr. Lerner holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree and an MBA, both from McGill University.

Prior to joining CN Mr. Lerner was a Management Consultant at Anderson Consulting.

Ms. Murray joined CN in 1992, initially working in Public Affairs before moving to positions of increasing responsibility within Supply Management and Sales and Marketing, including Account Manager (Metals and Minerals), Director of Sales (M&M and Petroleum & Chemicals), Assistant Vice-President Sales (P&C), AV-P Sales and Marketing (P&C), and AV-P Sales and Marketing (Industrial Products), before being named Vice-President, Corporate Marketing in May 2012.

Ms. Murray holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Library and Information Science degree from McGill University, in Montreal.

She is a member of the Board of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Montreal's Ecomuseum.

Prior to her appointment, she was Vice-President - Supply Chain since December 2017, and previously Assistant Vice-President Network Operations.

Ms. Paul first joined CN in June 1994 on a Management development program. She has served at CN as General Manager Car Fleet, General Manager Service Delivery and Assistant Vice-President Car Management and Service Delivery, among other positions.

Ms. Paul holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta in Edmonton and a Master’s Degree in Business/Commerce from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

Doug Ryhorchuk was appointed Vice-President Western Region in July 2016, based in Edmonton. Prior to that, he had been General Manager covering both BC and Alberta since 2008. Doug has been with CN since 1983 and has worked in both Engineering and Transportation.

Doug Ryhorchuk was appointed Vice-President Western Region in July 2016, based in Edmonton. Prior to that, he had been General Manager covering both BC and Alberta since 2008. Doug has been with CN since 1983 and has worked in both Engineering and Transportation.

Doug started in the Engineering Track Department and moved to Transportation as a First Line Supervisor in the late 90’s. He worked through operations roles in various locations in Western Canada and then moved to Toronto’s MacMillan Yard as the Transportation Superintendent. Doug is known for his leadership in driving significant improvements in productivity, employee engagement and process controls. As such, in 2009, Doug was recognized and received a CN President’s Award for Excellence for the development and implementation of the Scheduled Grain Plan, and then again in 2012 for the company’s transition towards becoming the Supply Chain enabler that CN is today. Doug is a strong proponent of safety, and his leadership style fosters positive working relationships with CN’s unionized workforce.

Jim Sokol was appointed Vice-President Mechanical in January 2018, based in Homewood, IL.

Prior to joining CN in 2018, Mr. Sokol was President MRO Services at HAECO Americas for three years. He previously worked at Southwest Airlines for 20 years, where he held the position of Vice-President, Maintenance and Engineering, and Vice-President, Maintenance Operations, among others.

Mr. Sokol’s responsibilities at CN include locomotive and railcar maintenance operations. With over 35 years of experience in the airline industry and MRO services, Mr. Sokol has a track record for leading strategies with a positive impact on operations while maximizing safety, reliability and efficiency.

Mr. Sokol holds numerous Certificates and Licenses in the airline industry, including those from the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Derek joined CN as a Management Trainee in Winnipeg in 2000. He subsequently took on roles of progressively increasing responsibility, including as Trainmaster, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent and General Superintendent, in a variety of locations, such as Chicago, Champaign, Memphis and Vancouver.
