You should pay your invoices in the currency in which they are presented.

We recommend that you send your payment using electronic means to ensure speedy processing.

If you need to pay in a different currency be aware of the following:

  • CN sets its currency conversion on Friday after 13:00 EST, based on the Bank of Canada rate.
  • CN applies the exchange rate that is in effect on the date your payment is received.
  • If payment is sent during the current week (Monday to Sunday) but CN receives payment the following week, then the following week's exchange rate will apply.

The exchange rate is effective from Monday at 00:01 EST and expires the following Sunday at 23:59 EST.
