Top Equipment
Center beam Car
Specially designed for the lumber industry, the 73-foot centerbeam car combines ease of loading and unloading with maximum safety for the product. Fifty-one-foot and 66-foot centerstake cars are also designed for lumber traffic.
High-Cube Double-Door Boxcar
CN's fleet of 60-foot double-door premium boxcars are capable of carrying up to 6,600 cubic feet of cargo, with door openings of 16 feet. These boxcars are used in panelboard, wood pulp, wood pellets and lumber service.
Wood Pulp Boxcar
These 50-feet 100-ton boxcars are always in demand, and provide numerous advantages for shippers including premium payload capacity and steel floors.
High-Cube Newsprint Boxcar
CN's fleet provides safe, damage-free newsprint handling for the paper industry. Plug type doors provide a smooth interior wall along the full length of the car. These cars are equipped with cushioning devices designed to absorb impacts.

Other Car Types
Log Car
Used by the forest products industry for transporting logs, these modified bulkhead flat cars are available in a range of sizes suitable for short and long logs. Car capacities vary from 75 to 85 tons.
Bulkhead Flat Car
Used in the forest products industry for transporting lumber, these bulkhead flat cars are suitable for carrying loads of 80 to 97 tons.
Woodchip Gondola
Specially designed for the pulp and paper industry, these cars can hold up to 6,800 cubic feet of pulpwood chips. Open-top gondolas without doors, end doors or bottom gates are designed for top loading. Unloading can be performed by top, end or bottom, depending on car design.
