CN selects the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Foundation as community charity for 2008 CN Canadian Women's Open

MONTREAL, Feb. 29, 2008 — CN (TSX: CNR)(NYSE: CNI) announced today the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Foundation has been selected as the designated community charity for the CN Miracle Match program as part of this summer's CN Canadian Women's Open golf tournament that will be held at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club from August 11-17, 2008. As a part of CN's sponsorship of the LPGA tournament, a minimum C$100,000 will benefit the CHEO Foundation, located in Ottawa, Ontario. The CN Miracle Match program provides additional fundraising opportunities that will encourage public donations in support of the children's hospital before and during tournament week that will be matched by CN.

CN Miracle Match is designed to rally communities across Canada to support children's hospitals. Each year since 2006, CN has raised funds to support a children's hospital by matching funds raised through various initiatives that are connected with the CN Canadian Women's Open. Over the last two years, close to C$1 million has been raised through these initiatives.

“At CN, we are deeply committed to the strength of our communities by ensuring the health and safety of our youth. CN is pleased to support the CHEO Foundation in Ottawa through the CN Canadian Women's Open and our Miracle Match program,” said Stan Jablonski, CN's senior vice-president, Sales. “We hope to surpass the C$546,000 that was raised during last year's event for the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation in Edmonton, Alberta.”

The CHEO Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to furthering the physical, mental and social well being of children and their families in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec by raising, managing and disbursing funds to the CHEO centre. The CHEO is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Ottawa, and conducts world-renowned research activities focused on new advances in care and the development of a comprehensive health system for children and youth.

“It is truly an honour to be selected as the beneficiary of the 2008 CN Canadian Women's Open,” said CHEO Foundation President and CEO, Fred Bartlett. “It is encouraging to have partners in the business sector like CN, that share our dedication to the well being of our community's children.”

Through the CN Miracle Match program, CN will match all on-site donations made during the tournament week and online contributions. Online donations can be made at www.cnmiraclematch.ca when the site is launched on May 1, 2008 and will be accepted until the conclusion of the 2008 CN Canadian Women's Open.

“As co-presenters of the CN Canadian Women's Open, The Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) is proud to be a part of this initiative that will benefit one of Canada's most outstanding children's hospitals,” said Richard Desrochers, chief operating officer, RCGA. “We look forward to seeing Ottawa's golf fans come out and support the stars of the LPGA and the CHEO Foundation.”
