CN extends support of women's golf to include Canadian legend…

Lorie Kane will proudly wear CN Logo on hat in 2006 as she tackles LPGA Tour

MONTREAL, Jan. 12, 2006 - Less than three months after CN established itself as the leading corporate supporter of women's golf in Canada as title sponsor of three important women's programs, the Canadian company extended its support today by announcing its partnership with Canada's premier female golfer, Lorie Kane.

The CN logo will be worn prominently on Lorie's hat for the next three years as she represents Canada on the LPGA Tour.

“I am extremely excited to partner with a company that defines Canada in many ways and especially one that has shown such a dedication to women's golf in Canada,” said Kane. “CN has done so much this past year to say to young people, and young girls in particular, that women's golf is important and I will be very proud as I wear the CN logo on tour.”

In October, CN and the RCGA announced that the 86-year-old company became title sponsor of the LPGA Tour Canadian Women's Open tournament, Canadian Women's Tour and Future Links, Canada's national junior golf development program.

"CN is very pleased that Lorie Kane will carry the CN logo on the LPGA Tour," said Stan Jablonski, CN Vice-President, Sales. "Lorie will be an excellent ambassador for CN and for the CN Canadian Women's Open. She will play an important role in demonstrating CN's commitment to making this tournament one of the premier stops on the LPGA Tour."

A proud resident of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Kane finished 15th on the LPGA Tour money list in 2005 with four top-10 finishes, including a tie for fourth place at the U.S. Women's Open. She is currently ranked 11th all-time in career earnings on the LPGA Tour and has established herself as one of Canada's most successful female professional golfers and a leading ambassador for the game.
