CN acquires four subsidiaries of Quebec Railway Corp. (QRC)

CN has acquired three principal railway subsidiaries of the QRC for C$49.8 million. CN will gain 540 track miles of rail line in eastern Ontario, eastern Quebec and northern New Brunswick through this transaction. CN is also acquiring a rail-freight ferry service on the St. Lawrence River from QRC in Eastern Quebec.

The QRC properties CN is purchasing are the:

• Chemin de fer de la Matapédia et du Golfe (CFMG)
• New Brunswick East Coast Railway (NBEC)
• Ottawa Central Railway (OCR)
• COGEMA (Compagnie de gestion de Matane inc.)
