Taking a comprehensive look at our carbon footprint — and reporting our environmental performance, is vital to CN. Why?
One reason: transparency.
The other reason: continual improvement. Our performance is monitored through regular audits. Once we have results from this process, we report our environmental performance and promptly set new goals and targets for our operations — and our audit process begins all over again.
Both reasons provide a strong rationale for our participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), collects and distributes high-quality environmental information from thousands of companies and cities to motivate investors, corporations and governments to take action to measure, manage and reduce emissions and, in turn, the impact of climate change.
Stepped-up CDP Participation
Recently, CN stepped up its participation in the CDP questionnaire, gathering information on its carbon emissions throughout the company to provide a more comprehensive view of its carbon footprint.
