Labor Settlements Reached on the Canadian Supply Chain

To our Valued Customers and Stakeholder Partners,

This is just a short note to inform you that we have reached two tentative agreements this week with our unions.

We have concluded a tentative agreement with the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference-Locomotive Engineers, ahead of the current contract expiring on December 31, 2011. Please click here for the joint CN-TCRC press release.

We also achieved a tentative agreement with the United Steel Workers (USW) who represent our Maintenance of Way employees in Canada, also ahead of the current contract expiring on December 31, 2011. Please click here for the joint CN-USW press release.

You may also remember the BCMEA (British Columbia Maritime Employers Association) and the Canadian West Coast Longshoremen reached an 8-year agreement in May 2011 running through to 2018, another very important consideration for your transpacific supply chain decisions in 2012.

CN's 22,000-strong employees want to take this opportunity to wish you, our valued customers and stakeholder partners, a happy holiday.

We thank you for your business.
