What is Automate?

Automate allows you to track your CN shipments without having to navigate through the CN e-Business website, or without the need for a web browser.

It also allows you to release your empty and loaded railcars to CN for pickup using Web Services and XML.

Automate uses the HTTPS protocol to ensure security of information.

Accessing Automate

To access Automate, you must be a registered user of the CN e-Business site.

If you are already a registered user, view the list of available transactions below.

Available Transactions

Use the links to view more information on each transaction, and download the user guides.

• Automated Shipment Tracking
  Track your shipments by Equipment ID.
• Automated Fleet Tracking (“My Shipments”)
  Track your shipments by Fleet ID (My Shipments list).
  A fleet, also known as a My Shipments list, uses a personalized set of parameters to automatically group your shipments for tracking purposes.
• Automated Railcar Release
  Release empty and loaded railcars to CN for pickup.
  CN's Auto Release technology, using Web Services and XML, allows you to release cars electronically from your computer to CN without manual intervention.
