In our U.S. operations CN, in accordance with applicable law, is committed to assuring that there is no discrimination against any applicant or employee on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, age ancestry, sexual orientation, national origin, physical or mental disability, veteran's status or any other protected characteristic as established by law. We are an affirmative action, equal employment opportunity employer, engaged in the affirmative recruitment of women, minorities and veterans.

Inside CN, we look for opportunities to raise awareness of the importance of Employment Equity and Equal Employment Opportunity wherever possible. Recent initiatives have included the development of a new hiring and induction kit for all CN employees that included our Harassment-Free Policy and an Equity Questionnaire. We strongly encourage employees to complete the questionnaire as a way to track minority representation in the company.

Community Outreach

Our efforts are ongoing to promote the company as an employer of choice to potential employees from the four designated groups in Canada. We attended several conferences, job fairs, events or made presentations to external organizations across Canada representing aboriginals, people with disabilities, women and visible minorities.

Accommodation

Reasonable accommodation ensures respect for people and their differences. We make every effort to ensure that no one is put at a disadvantage because of a special need or requirement and we work closely with our unions to decide workplace accommodations. CN has an accommodation policy and guidelines for Canadian employees. In the U.S., CN is committed to complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA") and all applicable state laws.
