Gordon T. Trafton
Special Advisor to the CN Leadership Team

Gordon Trafton was appointed Special Advisor to the CN Leadership Team in January 2010. Prior to that, he had been Senior Vice-President, Strategic Acquisitions and Integration since April 2009. In this role, he led the continued, successful integration of the former EJ&E into CN's operations, following on his leadership role in developing and delivering the EJ&E transaction.
From 2000 until June 2003, Mr. Trafton was successively Vice-President of the Wisconsin Central Division, Vice-President of the Midwest Division and, for a brief period, Vice-President of both the Midwest and Gulf Divisions. These divisions were merged to form the current Southern Region. In 1999, Mr. Trafton served as CN's Vice-President, Operations Integration. In that role, he led the CN team responsible for completing the Wisconsin Central acquisition in 2000. He became Senior Vice-President, Southern Region, in June 2003.
Before joining CN, Mr. Trafton was Vice-President, Transportation and Information Technology Services at Illinois Central. Before joining IC in 1996 as General Manager, Transportation, Mr. Trafton spent 18 years with Burlington Northern Railroad in a variety of positions.
Mr. Trafton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation and Traffic Management from the University of Colorado.
