Andy Gonta
Vice-President, Bulk

Andy Gonta was appointed Vice-President, Bulk in February 2010, based in Edmonton.  He is responsible for CN's grain, fertilizers, sulphur and coal businesses.

Mr. Gonta joined CN in 1997 as General Manager, Automotive and held positions of increasing responsibility within the Automotive group until being promoted to Vice-President of Automotive and Intermodal Sales.  In 2004, he undertook CN's exclusive railroad MBA program, during which he spent the better part of a year in the field at various locations throughout the company's system.  Since completing the program, he has held a number of senior positions in Sales and Marketing as well as Operations, including Vice-President, Quality Control; General Manager, Prairies; and most recently, General Manager, Car Fleet. 

Before joining CN, Mr. Gonta spent 21 years with CSX Transportation in a variety of positions. Mr. Gonta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from West Liberty State College in West Virginia and an MBA from the University of Baltimore.  He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
