In order to access CN property for purposes of environmental investigation or monitoring, and access agreement is required between CN Rail and the contractor who is completing the work.

Requirements of Contractors Prior to Application

Workplan - Description of location of property, including proposed scope of work to be completed on CN property.  Also include time frame for completion of investigation or monitoring activities.

Certificate of Insurance - A certificate of insurance is required for either non-operating properties ($5 million limitation of liability) or operating properties ($10 million limitation of liability).

Payment - A fee of $650.00 CDN will be required to access CN property for purposes of environmental investigation.

Once these items are completed and  sent to CN for review, and access agreement will be prepared within a period of two weeks (10 working days).

Contractors completing work on CN properties must also meet safety requirements and be provided orientation in the form of CN's Safety Watch Program.
