Compensation Strategy
At CN, we offer a competitive compensation package. We benchmark our salaries constantly on the external market, both in Canada and the US.

Employee Share Investment Plan
The Employee Share Investment Plan gives employees the opportunity to buy CN shares through payroll deductions. Plan participants also benefit from an additional contribution of 35% by the Company.
Participants choose a percentage, up to 10%, of their gross base salary and CN contributes 35 cents for every dollar contributed to their plan, up to 6% of their salary.
Participants may sell or withdraw the shares purchased with their contributions and the Company contributions at any time without penalty. CN also pays for all share purchase fees on behalf of employees within the Plan.
By holding CN shares, participants have a right to attend to and vote at shareholders' meetings. Participants will also be eligible to receive quarterly dividends as declared by the Company.Employee Recognition
